Classroom Lock-Down Best Practices

This workshop will provide age-appropriate and evidence-based solutions to help educators and classified staff conduct a lockdown. It will also cover response options and lockdown procedures for rooms with multiple entrances and exits, students with unique needs, and many other scenarios to better equip the staff for emergencies.

CPR

During the CPR workshop, the participant will have the opportunity to obtain a tier CPR card IF the participant completes the 3 hours of online pre-course work required for certification. A review and hands-on demonstration of the district's AEDs will be conducted. All participants will receive hands-on training regardless of whether the pre-course work is completed.

Crisis Communication

This workshop includes creating standardized communication templates for an emergency, post-incident for students, parents, staff, and the community. The course also includes best practices for releasing information to the public, utilizing a chain of command. The session will be taught by a subject matter expert with over three decades of extensive experience as an incident commander (IC) and Public Information Officer (PIO) during critical emergencies.

Drug Crisis and Interventions

This workshop will be presented by the San Joaquin County’s District Attorney's office. This session will provide information on drug and narcotics issues within the County and School Districts. It will also include how to identify fentanyl and other narcotics.
